“Be a Doer”

Recently, I have lost a good friend in a car accident. Chace had one of the most beautiful souls anyone could ever get to know. For someone who was only twenty years old, he lived life to the fullest and traveled to places I hope I go in the near future. If you said “I can’t” or “I wish I could be able to do that..” He would always say “Don’t be a Don’t-er, Be a Doer!”

I hadn’t seen Chace in almost two years but we would always catch up and whenever I was having a hard time with something, he would always help me see the brighter side and always believed everything happened for a reason. But the night he passed away, I was with him before he got into the car. We were all going to celebrate memorial day with all our friends the next day, but we never got that chance. The next couple of days were hard on everyone. It still doesn’t make sense on why he was taken from us so early but he is a constant reminder to live life to the fullest and to be a doer because life can be taken from you at any moment.

I don’t know where we go when we leave this place, but I believe we go somewhere where we can look over our friends and loved ones. When I think of Chace in this place, I feel that he’s seeing the places around the world he never got to and looking over his loved ones. When an opportunity of a lifetime comes my way, I can hear him say “Be a Doer.” Even though I can’t see or talk to him, I feel the heavy heart he had for everyone he loved and the passion he had for doing what you love and living life like there is no tomorrow. I believe getting to see Chace before he left us was a true blessing as hard as it has been. It was nice to be able to see him before he left us and I will always cherish those beautiful memories of dancing and joking around that night.

Seize the day and cherish your loved ones everyday because tomorrow is never promised.

Let your spirit soar!
